Nepal Launches Structured Drone Training with Certified Experts to Boost National Drone Capacity

Kathmandu, July 27 – The Unmanned Aircraft (Drone) Association of Nepal – UDAAN, in collaboration with Drone Hub Nepal Pvt. Ltd., has structured drone training programs aimed at building skilled and responsible drone operators across the country.
The training should cover key modules including 
•    Drone safety and Nepal Air-space
Focus on flight safety and regulations set by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN)
•    National and International Regulations
Focus on regulations of EASA, FAA, ICAO and CAAN
•    Drone application 
Focus on photography, videography, and aerial mapping
•    Flight planning and GIS 
•    Drone assembly and hands-on practice
Focuses on drone components, calibration, and manual flight techniques
•    Drone repair and maintenance 
Equips participants with skills to repair, calibrate, and upgrade drone systems to ensure safe long-term use

Sessions are tailored for various sectors including land surveying, agriculture, and disaster response.
Trainers and Expert Involvement
Such training programs should consist of a team of qualified and certified trainers with proper academics who deliver the programs through a combination of theory and field-based practice. 
The success of the training programs is largely attributed to the experienced and certified trainers engaged in these initiatives. The trainers include:
•    Aviation-certified drone pilots with international exposure.
•    Engineers and GIS experts specializing in remote sensing and data mapping.
•    Policy and legal advisors providing insights into airspace regulation and drone law in Nepal.
•    Experienced instructors contributing to humanitarian drone applications.
Participants are assessed at the end of each module and provided with certification that aligns with national guidelines.
Participants will receive certificates upon the successful completion of the training.
According to UDAAN, this initiative supports the growing national demand for drone skills and aims to establish provincial drone hubs in coordination with local authorities.
